The electronics sustainability community will no longer have to wait for an annual event to collaborate on pressing issues. SERI, the global non-profit behind the R2 Standard for responsible electronics reuse and recycling, has announced that its flagship gathering, the eSummit, is now a year-round program called eSummit360. The move reflects the growing urgency of sustainability challenges in the electronics value chain and provides continuous opportunities for leaders to connect and work on solutions as active participants rather than a passive audience.
At the heart of eSummit360 is a blend of virtual content throughout the year and the traditional in-person eSummit. Registration has opened for eSummit27, scheduled for March 8-10, 2027, at the Omni Tempe at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. For those eager to secure their spot, SERI is offering launch pricing of $799 through November 2, after which the rate rises to $1,299. The registration fee includes all sessions, meals, and receptions, ensuring a comprehensive experience. Full details, including downloadable images and bios, are available through the full announcement, which you can access by clicking here.
The expansion to a year-round model is significant because it acknowledges that the transition to sustainable electronics cannot be achieved in a few days of meetings. By maintaining an ongoing dialogue, eSummit360 aims to accelerate progress on critical issues such as extending product lifespans, improving recycling rates, and fostering collaboration across the value chain. This aligns with SERI's 10/35 vision: that by 2035, 10-year lifespans will be common among electronics, and all materials will be reused at end-of-life.
SERI also recognized several organizations as eSummit360 Champions: Blackbelt360, eBay, Lenovo, re:Cycle Reverse Logistics (an Amazon company), and Sims Lifecycle Services. These companies are supporting the year-round programming, including the in-person eSummit, demonstrating their commitment to advancing sustainability in the electronics industry. Their involvement underscores the collaborative nature of the initiative and the private sector's role in driving meaningful change.

The organization's work extends beyond the eSummit to include the R2 Standard, the ei (electronics impact) Reporting Program, the Champions Program, ReThink Awards, and the International E-Waste Management Network (IEMN). By transforming the eSummit into a continuous engagement platform, SERI is positioning the electronics sustainability movement for sustained momentum and tangible outcomes in the years ahead.
