Emerald Cruises & Tours announced that its new super yacht, Emerald Kaia, has successfully completed sea trials in Halong Bay, Vietnam, a critical step toward entering service. The trials confirmed the yacht's performance, maneuverability, and overall seaworthiness, according to a press release from the company. The vessel, designed for up to 128 guests, is now set for final fittings and delivery ahead of its inaugural 11-day Cyprus to the Acropolis sailing departing Limassol on April 4, 2026.
Emerald Kaia is the latest addition to the Emerald Cruises fleet, joining Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara. The yacht features Missoni decor and furnishings, expansive lounges, terraces, and decks, and new interconnecting suites for families and groups. An all-new Observation Sun Deck includes an additional Spa Pool, sun loungers, and shaded areas, while an innovative indoor/outdoor gym is located adjacent to the marina platform, allowing guests to swim directly from the platform.
The yacht debuts a new design for signature restaurant La Cucina, featuring a vibrant open kitchen, and introduces the Night Market Grill, an intimate private dining experience for eight guests at an additional cost. James Griffiths, Scenic Group General Manager, Ocean Operations, commented, “This milestone is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved in the project. Operationally, this sea trial has delivered excellent results and allows us to proceed with the final phase of commissioning with confidence. We look forward to welcoming guests on board Emerald Kaia in April 2026.”
The successful sea trials reflect Scenic Group's commitment to quality and innovation across its growing fleet, which includes future sister yachts Emerald Raiya (2027) and Emerald Xara (2028). The group also operates Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Mayflower Cruises & Tours, offering river cruises, yacht experiences, and land journeys across all seven continents. Emerald Kaia's entry into service will enhance luxury yacht cruising itineraries in the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Caribbean, Central America, Seychelles, and Indian Ocean.
With sea trials complete, the next milestones include final fittings and delivery, leading to the highly anticipated inaugural sailing. The announcement underscores the growing demand for boutique superyacht experiences and Scenic Group's strategic expansion in warm-water destinations.
