Edgewater Wireless Gains Strategic Investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSXV: YFI) (OTC: KPIFF), a pioneer in AI-powered Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing™ silicon solutions, has closed a private placement that includes a strategic investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels I, LLC. This investment marks the second from a semiconductor-focused investor, following the initial close, and underscores growing confidence in the company's next-generation Spectrum Slicing™ and PrismIQ™ roadmap.

The financing brings in not only capital but also deep semiconductor expertise. Silicon Catalyst Angels, established in 2019 to fund early-stage semiconductor companies, comprises seasoned executives, technologists, and investors who can provide strategic guidance and industry connections. This aligns with Edgewater's progression from engineering development toward prototype validation and commercial engagements.

Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of Edgewater Wireless, stated, "Experienced semiconductor investors understand where value can be created: when differentiated technology moves into visible execution. SCA's direct investment is a validation of our novel approach and strengthens Edgewater's strategic investor base at an important point in our development."

Brian Imrie, Chairman of Edgewater, also increased his investment, demonstrating insider confidence. "My additional investment reflects my confidence in Edgewater's technology, team and commercial traction," he said. The combined investments total gross proceeds of $717,332.70 from the issuance of 11,955,545 units across both tranches.

Edgewater's technology addresses critical challenges in Wi-Fi as the industry transitions to Wi-Fi 7 and beyond. By enabling multiple concurrent channels in a single band, Spectrum Slicing™ delivers up to a 10x performance improvement and 50% lower latency, even for legacy devices. This is particularly relevant in dense, congested environments where service providers face churn and inefficiency.

This investment also deepens Edgewater's relationship with Silicon Catalyst, which began when the company was selected as a portfolio company in November 2024. Since then, Edgewater has gained access to over 500 industry experts, in-kind design and fabrication resources, and welcomed Silicon Catalyst COO Nick Kepler as a board observer. These resources are instrumental as the company aims for an initial product release in the first half of 2027.

The company plans to use the net proceeds for semiconductor design, engineering, and product development related to its Spectrum Slicing™ prototype, as well as general working capital. With the support of strategic investors and a clear roadmap, Edgewater is positioning itself to redefine Wi-Fi from the silicon up, targeting high-reliability and performance-critical applications.
