DTLA ArtNight, Downtown Los Angeles's monthly celebration of arts, culture, and community, announced its largest expansion to date with the official addition of the Fashion District beginning Thursday, August 6, 2026. This move connects three major neighborhoods—Grand Avenue, the Historic Core, and the Fashion District—into a single cultural experience, reflecting the organization's mission to activate Downtown and showcase its diversity.
Michael Angelo DeLance, President of DTLA ArtNight, emphasized the significance of the expansion: "DTLA ArtNight was created to activate Downtown Los Angeles and showcase everything that makes our city extraordinary. Our mission is to connect neighborhoods through arts and culture while inspiring people to discover the creativity, diversity, and energy that make DTLA unlike anywhere else. Expanding into the Fashion District is an exciting next step as we continue building one connected Downtown."
The Fashion District, long known for fashion and design, has evolved into a hub for galleries, artist studios, and creative businesses. New partners include the Bendix Building, Kelly O'Brien Atelier × Not For Resale LA, CRE8, Mary at The STILE Hotel, and Zenith Gallery. Kelly O'Brien, founder of Kelly O'Brien Atelier, noted, "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting opportunity to welcome visitors into our working studio and share both the creative process and the finished work. Experiences like DTLA ArtNight strengthen the Fashion District as a destination for art, fashion, and creativity."
Mary at The STILE Hotel, located in the historic United Artists Building, also joins as a hospitality partner. CRE8, a four-year-old creative space, sees this as a milestone: "Joining DTLA ArtNight is an exciting milestone for CRE8. Since opening our doors four years ago, we've believed in the incredible creative potential of the Fashion District. Together, we're helping bring greater awareness, connection, and vibrancy to the neighborhood while strengthening Downtown Los Angeles as one unified creative community."
The expansion also brings new programming to Grand Avenue. A special classical music collaboration between Grand Performances and The Colburn School will take place at Spiral Court at California Plaza on August 6 at 6:00 p.m. The program features works by Joseph Bologne, J.S. Bach, Reena Esmail, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Astor Piazzolla, highlighting diverse voices in classical music. Rafael González, President & CEO of Grand Performances, explained, "Our partnership with The Colburn School brings a new classical music experience to DTLA ArtNight, showcasing extraordinary music performed by students and alumni that spans cultures, generations, and traditions."
DATALAND, the world's first omni-sensory AI art experience, joins with its inaugural exhibition, Machine Dreams: Rainforest, spanning over 25,000 square feet. Refik Anadol, Co-Founder and Artistic Director, said, "For many years, we have dreamed of a place where audience and artwork could merge. At DATALAND, that dream has now become reality."
DTLA ArtNight also partners with The Broad, MOCA, and other cultural institutions. The event's official photography sponsor, Samy's Camera, along with Sony Electronics, will host a hands-on photography experience at Emergent Gallery, offering participants the chance to borrow Sony cameras, enter a competition with a $2,000 grand prize, and have their work exhibited at Samy's flagship store. Roui Kamienowicz, COO of Samy's Camera, emphasized, "This contest is about bringing people together through photography... We're excited to partner with Sony on an event that celebrates creativity and our local photography community."
Additionally, The Biltmore Los Angeles will host photographer Andrei Duman's exhibition The Art of X Rays, complete with live jazz and an artist book signing.
This expansion underscores DTLA ArtNight's role in uniting neighborhoods and fostering a shared cultural identity. As the event continues to grow, it reinforces Downtown Los Angeles as a premier destination for arts and culture.
