Dr. Catherine Oleksiw Expands Leadership Coaching, Speaking, and Consulting to Help More People Discover Their Gifts

Dr. Catherine A. Oleksiw has spent her career helping people see what they often overlook in themselves. As the founder of Measured Transitions LLC, she has coached executives, advised nonprofit organizations, taught graduate students, and guided doctoral candidates through the dissertation process. Now, she is preparing to expand that work to reach more organizations, leaders, and professionals who know they are capable of more but may not yet know what their next step looks like.

Her approach begins with what she calls creating safe space—an environment where someone can ask a difficult question, admit they don't know something, be challenged, and still know they are respected. From there comes "the stretch," when someone begins moving beyond what is familiar. That can mean questioning an assumption, taking a thoughtful risk, or accepting greater responsibility. The goal is not to turn people into someone else, but to help them become more comfortable with who they already are and more willing to use what they already have.

"I help the people who help the people," Dr. Oleksiw says. "When leaders become stronger, organizations become stronger. When organizations become stronger, they can serve more people. That's the ripple effect that inspires everything I do."

That philosophy is grounded in both human potential and measurable results. With a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Measurement and Evaluation from Columbia University, Dr. Oleksiw has spent much of her career asking what is actually working, what is changing, and whether good intentions are producing meaningful results. That combination has followed her through leadership coaching, management consulting, dissertation advising, teaching, research, and performance evaluation.

Her work matters because it addresses a gap that many organizations overlook: leadership development should not suddenly begin when someone receives an executive title. Dr. Oleksiw works with established executives as well as high-potential professionals preparing for responsibilities they may not have yet. By helping people understand themselves before they lead others, she aims to build stronger organizations and more resilient communities.

Looking ahead, Dr. Oleksiw hopes to broaden her reach through keynote speaking and conversations with organizations thinking seriously about trust, resilience, purpose, authenticity, and psychological safety. The goal, she says, isn't simply to become louder. It is to reach farther.

For Dr. Oleksiw, the evidence that the work mattered often arrives later. Sometimes a former student tells her, "I wouldn't be where I am today if it hadn't been for you." Sometimes a doctoral candidate tells her that something she said or did made the difference between walking away and finishing. Those moments, she says, are the ones she remembers.

Success, for Dr. Oleksiw, has never been measured by applause. It has always been measured by the lives changed after the conversation. Her expanded focus on coaching, speaking, and consulting signals a commitment to helping more people recognize their gifts, believe those gifts matter, and find the courage to share them with the world.
