The DEFI Smart Pillbox 14 features a three-step alert process. When it is time for medication, the system sends a push notification via the DEFI app, accompanied by voice and visual cues from the pillbox itself. A colored light indicates the correct slot to open. If the user does not respond, the system escalates to a phone call to ensure the dose is not missed.
A key innovation is the AI-powered auto scheduling, which learns user behavior patterns over time. For instance, if a user consistently takes medication later than scheduled, the AI adjusts reminders to match real-life routines, reducing stress and improving consistency. The device also includes automatic dose tracking through infrared sensors in each of its 14 slots. Every pill removal is logged and synced with the DEFI app, providing users with visual graphs and calendars to monitor their medication history.
Additional features include a smart motion sensor that triggers a reminder when the user is near the pillbox but has not yet taken their dose. This function continues until the medication is taken.
