CMX Gold & Silver Corp. Advances Multi-Vein Exploration at Clayton Silver Project in Idaho

CMX Gold & Silver Corp. (CSE: CXC) (OTC: CXXMF) is advancing exploration at its flagship Clayton Silver project in Idaho, targeting multiple undiscovered veins beyond the single partially mined vein. The company's 100%-owned property, comprising 1,028 acres with 29 patented mining claims, 2 patented mill sites, and 20 unpatented claims, was once the most active underground mine in the district, producing silver along with lead, zinc, minor gold, and copper. However, the Clayton mine was never fully explored, having only been mined along a single vein due to the small mill operation's limited ore requirements.

The deposit is hosted in dolomite limestone that was uplifted during mountain formation. According to the company, geological evidence suggests a high probability of other undiscovered cracks in the overall deposit, where geothermal fluids would have flowed and deposited minerals, similar to the original producing vein. CMX views it as highly improbable that the single partially mined vein is the only silver vein in the area, prompting the current exploration efforts.

The Clayton mine was developed on eight levels to a depth of 1,100 feet below surface, with approximately 19,690 feet of underground development. Two major ore bodies—the South Ore Body and the North Ore Body—were partially mined. The company believes that historical mining focused on only a fraction of the potential mineralization, leaving significant upside for discovery.
