Chiropractic Practice Offers $1,000 Scholarship to Future Pain Relief Providers

Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic, a Baltimore-based provider of chiropractic care and physical therapy in Baltimore, MD, has announced that applications are now open for its $1,000 Pain Relief and Wellness Scholarship. The scholarship, which will be awarded in September 2027, is designed to support students pursuing careers dedicated to alleviating pain and improving health. Applications will be accepted through August 31, 2027.

The scholarship is open to students enrolled in accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional programs in the United States, including community college students. High school seniors and GED holders who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited program also qualify. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 and submit an essay of 1,000 words or fewer, an updated resume, and a current unofficial transcript. The essay should explain what inspired the applicant to help people with pain, what they have done so far toward that goal, and how their education will help them achieve it. While the scholarship is not limited to one field of study, each essay must demonstrate a clear commitment to pain relief and wellness.

Dr. Marc Gulitz, founder of Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic, emphasized the importance of supporting future providers. "Every day, our doctors and staff see how much relieving pain can change a person's physical and mental health," said Dr. Marc Gulitz. "This scholarship lets us invest in a student who shares that purpose, whether they plan to become a chiropractor, a physical therapist, a nurse, or another provider focused on helping others recover."

The scholarship reflects a broader commitment to addressing the growing need for pain management professionals. As the opioid crisis continues to highlight the importance of non-pharmacological approaches to pain relief, scholarships like this can help attract talented individuals to fields such as chiropractic, physical therapy, and nursing. By supporting students who are passionate about pain relief and wellness, the practice aims to contribute to a future workforce better equipped to help patients recover and improve their quality of life.

Founded in Baltimore in 2012, Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic has grown to include 14 chiropractors and serves patients across Baltimore City and five surrounding Maryland counties. The practice's services include chiropractic care, physical therapy, corrective exercises, spinal and postural screenings, and lifestyle advice. Dr. Gulitz holds a B.S. in molecular biology from Lehigh University and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College, and he serves on the board of the Maryland Chiropractic Association.

For students considering careers in health care, the scholarship offers not only financial assistance but also recognition of their dedication to a field that profoundly impacts individuals and communities. The application deadline of August 31, 2027, provides ample time for interested students to prepare their materials and articulate their commitment to pain relief and wellness.
