As Garden Grove and neighboring Orange County communities continue to manage disruption from a recent chemical incident and subsequent evacuations, Chef Nourish is extending targeted support to families and individuals whose dietary requirements go beyond standard emergency food options. The company, founded by Chef LaLa, has launched the Garden Grove Prepared Meal Support program, making ready-to-heat, chef-prepared meals available to affected residents, families, seniors, caregivers, hotel guests, responders, and individuals managing medical, cultural, allergy, performance, religious, or lifestyle dietary needs.
Chef Nourish is waiving the delivery fee on prepared meal orders for affected Garden Grove and Orange County households. Meals are paid orders, with delivery-fee relief extended to families and individuals impacted by the evacuation or temporary displacement. Affected households may call Chef Nourish at (323) 909-8933 and mention Garden Grove Prepared Meal Support.
"Emergency food is not one-size-fits-all," said Chef LaLa, founder of Chef Nourish. "So many people are helping right now, and we are incredibly grateful for the Red Cross, Orange County agencies, first responders, hotels, volunteers, and community partners who are showing up. I wanted Chef Nourish to support a very specific gap: people who need to eat carefully, even during an emergency."
Chef LaLa, a longtime Orange County resident and advocate for community-based wellness, recognizes that stress, displacement, and sudden disruptions to food access can be particularly challenging for people with special dietary needs. "Being away from home does not pause diabetes, heart disease, kidney concerns, food allergies, celiac disease, autoimmune issues, pregnancy nutrition, sensory food needs, athletic training, cultural food traditions, religious food practices, or the way a family has learned to eat to stay healthy," Chef LaLa said.
Chef Nourish was built for people who need more than fast food or one-size-fits-all meals. The company provides chef-prepared, nutritionist-guided, ready-to-heat meals designed around real-life needs, including hotel stays, temporary housing, family meal support, senior care, responder shifts, and special-diet continuity. The menu accommodates a broad range of dietary needs, including diabetic-conscious, low-sodium, gluten-free, dairy-free, allergy-aware, senior-friendly, high-protein, macro-balanced, anti-inflammatory-style, vegetarian, and culturally diverse meals, among others.
"Some people can eat whatever is available during an emergency, and we are grateful those options exist," Chef LaLa said. "But many people cannot. A senior with heart disease may need low-sodium meals. A person with diabetes may need balance and consistency. A child with sensory needs may only tolerate certain foods. A person with celiac disease or allergies needs ingredient awareness."
Chef Nourish serves Los Angeles and Orange County and prepares and delivers thousands of meals weekly. The company is a woman-owned, veteran-owned, minority-owned small business with the scale and infrastructure to support prepared meal delivery for families, individuals, organizations, responders, and community partners. Chef Nourish is also physician-led and nutritionist-guided, with culinary leadership from Chef LaLa.
Chef Nourish encourages all residents to continue following official evacuation orders and guidance from the City of Garden Grove, Orange County, Orange County Fire Authority, the American Red Cross, and other emergency agencies. Community members, businesses, hotels, and organizations interested in coordinating or sponsoring meals may contact Chef Nourish directly. For more information, visit Chef Nourish.
