The Chapel of the Holy Chalice at Valencia Cathedral served as the setting for the official presentation and blessing of the Pilgrimage Credentials of The Way of the Holy Grail on Tuesday, February 20, 2026. The event, held at 11:30 a.m., was organized for the First Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage of the Holy Chalice, part of the III Jubilee Year granted by the Holy See.
The ceremony included the delivery of 500 pilgrimage credentials, provided by the City Council of Massamagrell, reaffirming local institutional commitment to the development of this cultural and spiritual itinerary. Ms. María Sebastián, delegate of Youth for the Diocese of Valencia, and Mr. Sergio Pelarda, advisor of the delegation, attended to promote the initiative aimed at bringing younger generations closer to the Holy Chalice as a symbol of faith, history, and encounter.
The credentials were blessed by Mr. Álvaro Almenar, Canon Custodian of the Holy Chalice, in a gesture marking the beginning of this new diocesan pilgrimage. Mr. José Verdeguer, Canon of Heritage at Valencia Cathedral, expressed gratitude for the continuous research and heritage enhancement work by The Way of the Holy Grail. Dr. Ana Mafé García, president of the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail, highlighted the credentials as an instrument of welcome, guidance, and recognition for contemporary pilgrims. Mr. Francisco Gómez Laserna, mayor-president of the City Council of Massamagrell, emphasized the municipality's commitment to cultural and spiritual heritage linked to the Holy Chalice.
Notable attendees included Mr. José Ribes, advisor of the Cultural Association and parish priest of Massamagrell; Mr. Miquel Bailach, member of The Way of the Holy Grail in the Massamagrell council and general secretary of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP); Dr. Fernando Molina Pons, vice president of the International Scientific Commission for Studies of the Holy Grail; Ms. Carmen de la Cagiga, president of the Union of Hispanic Nations (UNAHIS); Ms. Liuba Daniel, international director of The Way of the Holy Grail; Dr. Danielle Pimentel de Oliveira, member of the International Scientific Commission; and Mr. Jesús Gimeno Peris, secretary of the Cultural Association. Mr. Víctor Pérez, president of FOTUR, and Mr. Pedro Cuesta, provincial deputy of Tourism for the Provincial Council of Valencia, also expressed support for the initiative.

During April 2026, young people can register and participate in this historic event, receiving their Pilgrimage Credential of The Way of the Holy Grail. The Youth Delegation of the Diocese of Valencia and the Cultural Association encourage all youth to join this pilgrimage combining spirituality, heritage, nature, and coexistence, allowing them to become part of a community walking with hope toward the future, inspired by the Holy Chalice.
