Ceres Holographics and Eastman to Reveal Largest Transparent In-Plane Display at Beijing Auto Show

Ceres Holographics and Eastman, long-term innovation partners in advanced automotive display solutions, announced today that they will demonstrate the latest evolution of their transparent in-plane display solution at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, taking place from April 23 to May 4, 2026 (public exhibition: April 24 to May 3). The showcase features the world's largest in-plane display with multiple Holographic Optical Elements integrated into a single film laminated into an OEM-approved windshield, signaling the technology's maturity and readiness for real-world deployment.

Powered by Ceres' Holoflekt® manufacturing platform and Eastman's Saflex™ PVB interlayer, the windshield-embedded system uses compact LED projectors to deliver ultra-bright, full-color, non-obstructive content. This advance represents a significant step toward integrating augmented reality displays directly into vehicle glazing without compromising visibility or safety.

The partnership between Ceres Holographics and Eastman has been ongoing for several years, focusing on developing transparent displays that can be embedded into automotive glass. The Holoflekt® platform enables the production of large-area holographic optical elements that can be laminated into windshields, creating a see-through display area that projects information directly in the driver's line of sight. Eastman's Saflex™ interlayer provides the necessary optical clarity and durability to meet automotive standards.

According to the companies, the technology is now ready for OEM adoption, with the ability to produce displays that are both functional and aesthetically integrated into vehicle design. The demonstration at the Beijing Auto Show will allow automakers and suppliers to evaluate the display's performance in a real-world setting.
