The annual CENTRESTAGE fashion event kicked off with a spectacular opening gala, CENTRESTAGE ELITES, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 2, 2026. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the HKSAR Government, the event is a cornerstone of the third edition of Hong Kong Fashion Fest. This year's show featured KIT WAN STUDIOS, led by Hong Kong-born creative director and visual artist Kit Wan, who presented a collection blending futuristic and sci-fi aesthetics against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour.
The showcase marked the debut of over 30 brand-new looks, with select pieces on display at the fairground (Booth No.: 3D-D06) throughout the event. Kit Wan's studio has previously designed "stage armour" for artists such as Miriam Yeung, Hins Cheung, MC Cheung, and Panther Chan, and has taken Hong Kong design to international stages including the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and Eurovision in the United Kingdom. The opening night was attended by Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR Government, as the Guest of Honour, along with numerous celebrities and fashion industry figures. An after-party featured performances by electronic musician hirsk and Belgian model and musician Kim Peers, while a dedicated exhibition zone showcased seven iconic stage costumes previously created by KIT WAN STUDIOS for artists like Hins Cheung and Miriam Yeung.
CENTRESTAGE is open to both industry professionals and the public free of charge from September 2 to 5, offering over 40 events including more than 30 runway shows. On Friday, September 4, Kit Wan will engage in a dialogue with Dan Hastings, Editor of The Business of Fashion, to discuss creative inspiration and international expansion. The organizers also arranged a livestream of the performance across multiple official platforms, enabling a global audience to witness the spectacle.
