Licensed massage therapist Terry Johnson has announced the grand opening of Balanced Wellness Massage Therapy at the Salon and Spa Galleria South Cooper in Arlington, Texas. Johnson, who completed her training at Tarrant County College and further refined her skills in Thailand, draws on an insight she gained from her overseas teacher: “The body doesn't open through force. It opens through trust.” During her time in Thailand, she observed that her teacher never broke contact with a patient, maintaining a seamless flow that allowed the nervous system to soften. This technique, Johnson explains, prevents the body from “waking up” between strokes, enabling deeper therapeutic work without causing pain or resistance.
At Balanced Wellness Massage Therapy, sessions begin with slow, intentional warming of the body, allowing muscles to relax naturally. Johnson gradually increases pressure as tension releases, reaching deeper layers without force. “Each stroke flows into the next, creating a rhythm that your body begins to follow,” she said. Clients often report losing track of time or entering a state between sleep and waking, where the nervous system resets. “By the end of the session, it's not just that your body feels better. It feels reset,” Johnson added.
