The Atlanta Community Food Bank, a central hub in the fight against hunger in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, has named new members to its Governing and Advisory Boards. These appointments, effective July 1, 2026, aim to strengthen the organization's ability to make food assistance more convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable across its service area, where over 900,000 people are projected to be food insecure.
Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the new members, stating, "We are honored to welcome our new Board members, who bring their professional expertise and dedication to our community. We are incredibly grateful to this group of leaders for their commitment to service and for joining us in our mission to fight hunger, making vital resources more accessible for our neighbors in need." The new members will provide guidance and collaboration to amplify the Food Bank's impact as a critical part of the food ecosystem.
The Food Bank added four new Governing Board members for Fiscal Year 2027, each serving three-year terms. They are Danielle Fallin, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; Marshall Guest, Chief Strategy Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber; Noel Baber, VP & CFO at Kaiser Permanente Georgia; and Vonetta Daniels, Founder & Principal at VYD and Associates. These individuals bring expertise in public health, business strategy, finance, and community consulting, which will be invaluable in addressing the complex challenges of food insecurity.
Additionally, Christine Connor, Managing Partner and Founder at Switch Consulting Group, has been elected as the new Advisory Board Vice Chair. She is joined by two new Advisory Board members: Jay Ritchie, President & CEO at Tokio Marine HCC, and Kevin Autie, Senior Manager at Gas South. Their diverse backgrounds will contribute to the Advisory Board's efforts to support the Food Bank's strategic initiatives.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works to end hunger with the food, people, and big ideas needed to ensure neighbors have the nourishment to lead healthy and productive lives. Through more than 700 community-based, nonprofit partners in 29 counties, the organization helps thousands of families, children, and seniors get healthy food every year. In 2023, the Food Bank distributed its one billionth meal, a testament to its scale and impact.
The new board members will play a critical role in guiding the organization as it continues to adapt to the growing need for food assistance. With projections indicating that over 900,000 people in the service area may face food insecurity, the need for effective leadership and innovative solutions has never been greater.
