Art Gallery of Ontario Joins Toronto CityPASS, Offering Discounted Access to Major Cultural Institution

The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) has been added to the Toronto CityPASS program, expanding access to one of Canada's leading cultural institutions for travelers seeking discounted admission to multiple attractions. CityPASS, which offers bundled tickets in 17 North American cities, now includes the AGO alongside other Toronto landmarks such as the CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium of Canada.

Founded in 1900, the AGO is among North America's largest art museums, with a collection exceeding 120,000 works. Highlights include the world's largest public collection of Henry Moore sculptures, Peter Paul Rubens' "The Massacre of the Innocents" (c. 1610), and Pablo Picasso's "La misereuse accroupie (The Crouching Woman)" (1902). The museum also features works by Indigenous and Canadian artists like Emily Carr and the Group of Seven, as well as contemporary installations such as Yayoi Kusama's "INFINITY MIRRORED ROOM - LET'S SURVIVE FOREVER" (2017).

The AGO is undergoing its seventh expansion, with the Dani Reiss Modern and Contemporary Gallery set to open in 2027, increasing exhibition space for modern and contemporary art. The museum offers diverse programming, including live performances, talks, and family activities at the Dr. Mariano Elia Hands-On Centre. Dining options range from the AGO Bistro to the Espresso Bar, and the Shop AGO features artisan jewelry and gifts.

"The Art Gallery of Ontario is an essential cultural destination, and we're pleased to welcome it to the Toronto CityPASS program," said Megan Allen, president and CEO of City Pass, Inc. "This partnership reinforces our mission to make world-class experiences more affordable, accessible and convenient for travelers."

Toronto CityPASS tickets save visitors up to 38% on prepaid admission to five attractions via a single mobile ticket. The program includes admission to the CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, plus a choice of three from: Royal Ontario Museum, City Cruises Toronto, Casa Loma, Toronto Zoo, and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Tickets cost $134.96 CAD for adults and $99.96 CAD for children ages 4-12, excluding tax, and are valid for nine consecutive days. Mobile tickets are available at citypass.com, and ticketholders can use the My CityPASS app to access tickets, view attraction details, and find special offers. City Pass, Inc. offers a 365-day return policy on non-activated tickets.

Since 1997, more than 30 million CityPASS tickets have been sold, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars based on over 88,000 customer reviews. The inclusion of the AGO further enhances the value proposition for visitors to Toronto, combining cultural enrichment with significant savings.
