Angkor Resources Drills Initial Program at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target, Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK; OTCQB: ANKOF) has completed the initial phase of a planned 2,800-meter diamond drilling program at its Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, reporting encouraging mineralization in the first three holes. The first 1,099 meters were drilled in mid-July on the Thmei North target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly, before the onset of the heaviest rains. The remaining 1,700 meters will be drilled in early 2027 once fields dry and crops are harvested.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, commented: “Two of the three holes drilled this year encountered good porphyry and skarn mineralization over the 400 meters each was drilled. Portions of skarn were especially well mineralized. The third hole contained a run of over 200 meters with continuous pyrite mineralization up to 20%.”

The Andong Bor license, which covers 100.28 square kilometers across Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces, was the focus of drilling in 2025 that identified north-northwest striking, steeply west-dipping structures controlling mineralization. Consequently, the current holes were oriented to the east to better intersect mineralized beds, a strategy that maximizes intersections of mineralized sedimentary rocks alternating with feldspar porphyry diorite dikes.

The core from the initial drilling is being logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals to be dispatched for assay. The second phase will follow the same pattern, targeting the Thmei North and Thmei South prospects.

This news is significant as it provides early indications of a potentially substantial copper-gold system in Cambodia, a country with emerging mineral potential. The positive mineralization encountered could lead to a significant discovery, attracting further investment and development. Moreover, the company is also advancing oil and gas exploration in the country, positioning Angkor as a key player in Cambodia's resource sector.

Angkor Resources is a leading resource explorer and developer in Cambodia, holding two mineral exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects. Its energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., holds an onshore oil and gas license covering approximately 4,095 square kilometers, with 2D seismic completed and multiple drill targets identified.

The company plans to drill Cambodia's first privately financed onshore exploratory oil and gas wells under a Production Sharing Contract. These initiatives underscore Angkor's commitment to unlocking the country's mineral and energy resources, which could have significant economic implications for Cambodia.
