American Heart Association and MedTech Innovator Select Eight Startups for Heart and Brain Health Accelerator

The American Heart Association (AHA) and MedTech Innovator (MTI) have selected eight companies to participate in the 2026 Heart and Brain Health Accelerator, a specialized track within the MTI Accelerator program. This initiative aims to support early- and mid-stage medical technology startups that are developing novel solutions for cardiovascular and brain health, aligning with the AHA's mission to improve patient outcomes and expand access to care.

The selected companies were chosen from a highly competitive global pool and represent some of the most promising innovations in the field. The cohort includes Cerevia Neurosciences, which is developing a non-invasive neuromodulation platform for dementia; Chambertech, focused on minimally invasive ablation for atrial fibrillation; Envera Medical, creating a neurovascular balloon catheter for safer embolization procedures; Eupnoos, which uses acoustic breath biomarkers to detect heart failure and lung injury; Flux Robotics, developing magnetically guided robotic systems for navigating complex arteries; Lucentia, whose software converts routine CT scans into virtual coronary CT angiography for early heart disease detection; OMINI, with a portable point-of-care platform for monitoring chronic diseases like heart failure; and Prima Medical, offering real-time AI guidance for pulsed field catheter ablation.

According to Lisa Suennen, managing partner of American Heart Association Ventures, the accelerator connects high-potential companies with the expertise, resources, and networks needed to bring impactful products and services to patients and clinicians. The companies will receive specialized mentorship, coaching, and capacity building from AHA Ventures, tailored to their focus on cardiovascular and brain conditions.

As participants, these startups become official members of the MedTech Innovator program, gaining access to networking opportunities, funding, and increased visibility. They also qualify to compete in the MedTech Innovator Competition Finals at the MedTech Conference in Boston, October 18-21, 2026. Additionally, they are included in the inaugural MTI Index, which recognizes promising medtech companies advancing innovation.

This collaboration underscores the AHA's commitment to fostering innovation that addresses critical gaps in cardiovascular and neurological health. By leveraging the expertise of AHA Ventures and Studio Red, the accelerator aims to drive technology-driven improvements in patient care. More information about the selected startups and the accelerator can be found on the American Heart Association website.
