36th Hong Kong Book Fair to Showcase Cultural Heritage and Global Travel Literature

The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place from July 15 to 21, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Running concurrently with the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the World of Snacks, the three events are expected to bring together more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, offering a comprehensive cultural, sports, and leisure experience.

This year's Book Fair adopts the theme "Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys," aiming to inspire readers to explore cultural heritage and innovation through reading and travel. The fair will feature over 600 cultural events, including seminars, exhibitions, and interactive activities. The "World of Art & Culture" zone will host the "World in Words, A Voyage of the Heart" exhibition, which uses interactive setups to recommend books and travel itineraries based on visitors' preferences. The exhibition also showcases over 200 books and items from around the world, in collaboration with various consulates in Hong Kong.

Eight seminar series will feature renowned writers and experts, including Chinese authors Liu Zhenyun, Su Tong, and Bi Feiyu, as well as international authors like British poet and novelist Luke Kennard. The English and International Books Seminar Series will also include the ASEAN Literary Festival for the first time, featuring authors such as Eka Kurniawan and Clarissa Goenawan. Other notable speakers include Joe Ngai, Greater China Chairman of McKinsey & Company, and aerospace experts from Hong Kong universities.

The Book Fair will also host the "International Publishing Forum" and "IP Roundtable" to discuss industry trends. The Cultural and Creative Space returns with pavilions from Fujian, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong exhibitor Tsi Ku Chai. Chinese mainland publishers will present about 20,000 publications, with Yunnan as the featured province.

The Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo will offer sports experiences, fitness products, and edutainment activities, including a "Fit & Fearless Challenge" by the Hong Kong Playground Association and a showcase of pickleball apparel. The World of Snacks will feature over 1,300 snacks from nearly 30 countries, including local brands like Amore Hand Baked and sustainable snacks from Do Did Dust.

A single ticket provides access to all three events. Adult tickets are HK$30, with various discounts available. The HKTDC is also celebrating its 60th anniversary with a "60 Book Fair Super Passes" giveaway.
