The 15th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) is set to take place on 17 and 18 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, aligning with the 15th Five-Year Plan and the 2025 Policy Address to bolster Hong Kong's status as an international shipping centre and aviation hub. Co-organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the conference will bring together over 80 speakers and is expected to attract 2,300 participants from more than 40 countries and regions.
Under the theme “Collaboration and Growth in the New Trade Landscape,” ALMAC will address three major trends: supply chain diversification and opportunities in emerging markets, sustainability and green energy, and innovation and technology. Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized that the conference supports Hong Kong's 'Eight Centres' and encourages businesses to explore global opportunities, particularly in high-potential markets such as the Middle East and ASEAN. Senior industry representatives from the Middle East and Central Asia will attend in person, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a premier global business hub.
New thematic sessions will spotlight the Middle East and Central Asia markets. A session titled “Tapping the Middle East: Logistics, Innovation & Trade Potentials” will feature speakers including Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo Officer of Etihad Airways, and Robert P. Frei, Global SVP Freight Forwarding Operations of DP World Logistics. Another session, “Unlocking Central Asia: The Next Trade and Logistics Frontier,” will provide insights from Dr Ainur Amirbekova of QazTrade and Grégory Lecomte of the OECD, exploring strategies to leverage new trade routes and optimize multimodal connectivity.
Sustainability will be a key focus, with a “Green Energy Forum: Fuels, Freight, and the Road to Net Zero” session exploring pathways to a low-carbon future. The Policy Address's goal of promoting Hong Kong as a green maritime fuel bunkering centre aligns with discussions on green methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen fuels. Additionally, a session on “The Engine of Low-altitude Economy: How Cargo Drones are Revolutionising the Future of Air Logistics” will examine drone technology and AI-powered logistics systems, with a dedicated Low-Altitude Economy Zone showcasing cutting-edge technologies.
The conference will host around 20 thematic forums and workshops over two days, featuring representatives from leading international brands such as Procter & Gamble, HP, and Reckitt. The exhibition area will include over 90 exhibitors, with dedicated zones for aviation, low-altitude economy, logtech, supply chain management, and maritime services. First-time exhibitors include SF Express, Greater Bay Airlines, YunExpress, ZIM, and PayCargo. Last year, ALMAC facilitated over 330 business-matching sessions, underscoring Hong Kong's role as a superconnector.
The NextGen Logistician Awards Presentation Ceremony 2025 will be held on the second day, recognizing young talents in innovative, smart, and green logistics. The conference underscores Hong Kong's strategic importance in global trade, as outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan and the Policy Address, and provides a platform for businesses to navigate the evolving trade landscape.
